This hut of the Bamberg Mountain Rescue Service was named after the mountain rescue service pioneer Andreas "Ali" Herzog, who died in 2000.
The Bergwacht Bamberg was founded on May 1st, 1928 and built this hut in 1932 (Andreas Herzog was also there).
Bamberg's readiness takes over the rescue of casualties, their search and the emergency medical care. This often takes place under difficult conditions and in close cooperation with the air and land rescue services.
The protection of the home environment is also one of their tasks.

From the Almadlerhütte down there is a small stream that runs into the forest. If you follow this (caution can be muddy) you come to the next stream. Beautiful and serene. There you come back on a path.
