The old Amtshof, which dates back to 1746, is located on the district's premises. It was the seat of the district officials and formerly consisted of eight buildings. Two of these buildings are still well preserved today. They are used by the district administration. (Rotenburg Cultural Trail)

The Amtshof developed from a bishop's farm (a farm for the provision of the bishop and his servants) from the 16th century in 1746.

It served as the work and residence of the bailiff of the Rotenburg district. It was created after the episcopal and Swedish administration. The 2nd bailiff lived on the fortress grounds (today the Heimatbund grounds). The Amtshof is a representative building. The cellar is only half sunk into the ground. To get into the house, you have to climb a small open staircase. It is located in the middle. The building was symmetrically aligned, but was changed by an extension. Today the Amtshof is located in a park-like area and belongs to the district administration. This part of the district town is easy to reach from the town hall (via the Aalter Allee, the Wümme bridge, through the Nöden to the district building and from there to the old Amtshof).
