Aarhus Harbor is one of the largest in Northern Europe. It extends over a quay totaling 8.8 km and 5.3 km pier. Thanks to a water depth of 14 meters, the largest container ships in the world can dock here.

Guests arriving on cruise liners in Aarhus not only experience a port that played a key role in the city's inhabitants during the Viking era, but also entered the largest container port in Denmark by far. Half of all containers handled in Denmark pass through Aarhus harbor.

Aarhus Port is not only an exceptionally dynamic container port, but also home to around 150 companies, which together employ several thousand people.

The harbor area in Aarhus is not just the location for the big industrial harbor. At the same time, a completely new part of the city is being created here, whose modern architecture, as it were, stands in sharp contrast to the industrial part of the harbor. Within just a few years, around 7,000 people will move into the new residential buildings on the harbor grounds. It also foresees the creation of 12 000 new jobs linked to the port.

The new vital center of the Aarhus port is the imposing multimedia house Dokk1, in which u.a. the city library and the Aarhuser Bürgerbüro are housed.
