The square paved market square is located in the middle of the historic city center of Radeberg. One of the most striking objects on the market is the town hall designed by Samuel Locke and completed in 1769.

A town hall on the Radeberg market was first mentioned in 1517. A town fire destroyed the entire city center in 1714, and the fire also completely destroyed the first town hall. Reconstruction was still ongoing when the town burned down again on May 18, 1741, and the town hall fell victim to the flames again.
The town hall, designed by Samuel Locke, was completed in 1769.
The growing town required more and more space for the town administration, so the town hall was constantly being expanded and remodeled. A third floor was added to the building in 1822 and a "classical pilaster strip" was added.

The building was extensively renovated in the late 1990s and early 2000s, and the facade was restored to its neo-baroque design from 1904.
