In a pyramid-shaped mausoleum south of Castle Baum, Count Wilhelm, his wife and their little daughter rest in three black marble coffins:

Pyramid grave near Bückeburg
A footpath leads from Schloss Baum to the pyramid grave. In 1774, at the age of only three, Count Wilhelm's only child, daughter Emilie, died. The parents could not get over the death, Graf Wilhelm's young wife passed away two years later and he himself followed in the following year. All 3 are buried in the 21-tier grave pyramid.
At that time, the Schaumburg counts and princes were buried in the mausoleum in Stadthagen. Count Wilhelm, however, chose this form of the last resting place in nature.
