Between and around Negenoord-West and Negenoord-Oost, two gravel extraction lakes near the Maas where you will find a large part of the Negenoord-Kerkeweerd nature reserve and between which a somewhat narrower path runs. However, don't forget to take a trip to Kerkeweerd, the piece of nature reserve on the Maas. It is located just below Negenoord-East. The gravel ponds are good for a variety of birds all year round. In the spring and summer they come here to breed and in the winter you have the hibernators again. The beaver is also present here and the grazers in the area are Koniks and Galloways. In the watchtower you will find numerous signs about nature here, which is indeed very worthwhile. The bird viewpoint is not your thing, but there you will also find extra information about nature, in particular which birds you will find here. And if you don't need all that knowledge or - better - facts and just want to enjoy as much nature as possible, then definitely come in May or June because then there is a lot in bloom here and an extra path to the Maas is rewarded with a real natural herb garden.
