Schleswig's town hall used to be the state hall. The town hall is characterized by two parts of the building from different epochs. The front classical building was rebuilt in 1794 and the rear part is still from the Middle Ages.

Two parts of the building, each from different eras, characterize the town hall of Schleswig. The front Classicist building was rebuilt in 1794 and the rear part is still preserved from the Middle Ages.
Around 1234, the Graukloster was built on the foundations of the former Danish royal court. Duke Abel, later king of Denmark, left the grounds of the former Danish royal court to the Franciscan order. The actual name of the monastery was St. Paul's Monastery or St. Paul's Monastery. The term "gray monastery" derives from the gray robes of the Franciscan monks.
