The Church of S. Leonardo unleashes a popular force. The heavy chain that encircles the entire sacred building one and a half times refers to the patron saint of livestock and prisoners. Consecrated in 1194 and renovated in 1430, the church underwent a Baroque renovation in the 18th century. The precious stucco on the ceiling, the work of the studio of Franz Singer (1770c.), refers to the Baroque and to the creativity of the master builder Tangl. Toni Kirchmair's frescoes are a reminder of recent history: they were made around 1920 and depict St. Leonard as the patron saint of prisoners and war dead during the First World War.

A reunion with the little chain church after a decent ascent, partly with steep passages, slippery rocks and scree. I met very friendly mountain farmers and received fruit as a gift as a reward. And a brilliant view of the valley.
