Kritsa is a nice little village that got a big tourist boom in the 50s of the 20th century. This is where Jules Dassin's film was shot based on Nikos Kazantzaki's book "Greek Passion". Today you can find various small shops that offer handmade tablecloths and other things, as well as many small taverns.

Kritsa (Greek Κριτσά (f. sg.)) is a town in eastern Crete, in the municipality of Agios Nikolaos of the municipality of the same name. The distance to the town of Ágios Nikólaos is about nine kilometers. In 2011, the statistics counted 1,296 inhabitants in Kritsa itself and 2,637 inhabitants with the connected places.

In 1956, Kritsa served as a backdrop for the filming of the film The Man Who Must Die, based on the novel by Nikos Kazantzakis. Kritsa is known for its proximity to the Panagía i Kerá church, which is just outside the town. In addition to farming, the residents earn their living mainly by selling handicrafts, which are sold in front of almost every house on the town's main street.
