            The Neutor is an old gate in the northwest of the Nuremberg city wall, southwest of Nuremberg Castle.

            The Neutorturm is one of the four distinctive, round main towers of the Nuremberg city fortifications, its old name is "Green K".

            The Neutor was one of the four main gates of the Nuremberg city fortifications, was mentioned as early as 1377 and led via St. Johannis (Nuremberg) to Fürth, Würzburg and Frankfurt am Main. It was built next to the older Tiergärtnertor; the gate tower was originally preceded by an outbuilding.

            In 1564 the tower was encased in a round structure and the old outbuilding was replaced by the Neutorbastei.
