On the Rhineland-Palatinate side of the Rhine is the 53 meter high, "Nibelungenturm" called, Romanesque bridge tower of the "old" Worms Rhine bridge (Nibelungenbrücke) - a monumental tower in the "Nibelungen style" and representative entrance to the city of Worms. As Nibelungenturm the 53 m high gate tower of the Nibelungen Bridge on the left bank of the Rhine is called. The original mechanical movement was exchanged for a Funkwerk; It is stored in the state-owned Mobility Rhineland-Palatinate (LBM) in Worms. Below the slate helmet are also in red sandstone the coats of arms of the three provincial capitals of the Grand Duchy appropriate: Mainz for Rheinhessen, Darmstadt for Starkenburg and casting for Upper Hesse. So the tower is beautiful ....

The main road that leads through the tower and next to it is much less beautiful. It's noisy and it's just not a nice atmosphere.

Well, serves the purpose perfectly as a crossing of the Rhine. Make sure you choose the right path. Unfortunately we saw a lot of cyclists on the sidewalk.
