However, it is easy to see the sacrificial shell in which its flat shell has not only collected water. In the seclusion of this place you can imagine good gruesome sacrificial rituals and shiver a little despite the effort of the climb ;-)

Maimont is a mountain area with two peaks, one has 491 m altitude, the other 513 m, right on the border between Germany and France. Around the main peak attracts a rampart that has been dated to the Celtic period. The bowl-shaped "sacrificial bowl" in a rock next to the summit has also been associated with "cultic customs", but is probably just a geological feature. He became famous by a battle on May 13, 1940, when the German Wehrmacht attacked the French on the mountain and expelled them there in a battle lasting many hours, which cost many dead on both sides. Of these, only the so-called "Peace Cross" announces today on an outstanding rock, already renewed for the fourth time (2014)
