Former, Disused Special Weapon Camp of U.S. Pat. Armed forces from the Cold War era. An interest group ensures the preservation and documentation of this "modern castle". There is a tour, as well as numerous information boards. If you are historically interested, you will find a tour of Area 1 exciting.
In any case, this memorial to the time of the Cold War should not be forgotten.

The camp is open all year, but the watchtower is closed.

The former military area Area1 surprised not only with its sheer size and public accessibility, but also with the fact that everything here had been properly dismantled. The windows were removed, all power cables removed and the spiral staircase to the watchtower also dismantled. The entire building was also "swept clean" without any rubbish or broken glass. The street with all its bunkers was given the flattering name "Bunkerallee". The bunkers were all locked, but with the smaller ones the heavy inner door was open and you could see that some of them were used for other purposes, e.g. as a garage for mobile homes, old sleds or trailers.
