The landscape up here on the Görauer Anger is simply special. The pines along with the rough, stony fields are very unique to the area. The panoramic view over Kulmbach and the surrounding area stretches along the long path.

Everything has actually already been said :-) But I also particularly like it up here on the Görauer Anger! If you do not like to walk long, you can park at the hiking car park in Zultenberg and then you are right here. Otherwise, the way from Weismain via the castle ruins Niesten, the Kalkberg and through the bear forest is worthwhile.

The Görauer Anger (552 meters) is the northern foothills of Franconian Switzerland and is about eleven kilometers west of the beer town of Kulmbach, halfway between Bamberg and Bayreuth. The more than five kilometer long ridge offers a unique view. The Anger is one of the most beautiful vantage points in Franconia. As far as the eye can wander, a panoramic view of unique beauty opens up to the visitor. From the cliffs, which fall steeply to the Main valley, the view in the north stretches far to Thuringia and the Franconian Forest. East to the Fichtelgebirge and Steinwald. In the south to the northern Upper Palatinate with the Rauben Kulm. The circle closes in the west through the heights of Franconian Switzerland and the Bamberg region.
