It is a small lake in the Grunewald chain of lakes, which must be protected under the Green Areas Act (Green Triangle with Tulip). Cycling, ball games, boat trips (except residents / fishing club) is not allowed. Dogs must be on a leash. The shore must also not be entered. A wooden fence along the lake was erected for this purpose
I am a resident and have been fighting for the preservation of this lake/these lakes for years. It is destroyed by some visitors and anglers and young people. Bottles and rubbish as well as bread are thrown into the lake. Cyclists push their way through the path, anglers fish in places that are not permitted, young people occupy the benches to smoke hashish and leave garbage behind, dog owners let their dogs bathe on the bank and ducks hunt. The shore is covered in feces and it stinks of it. Residents with pedal boats regularly disturb the breeding birds on the lake. The Parks Department is only cutting down trees instead of reforesting, but they live up to the idea of the state of Berlin to give the "visitors" a better view of the lake. Since the path was advertised as a hiking trail on the network, the destruction has been omnipresent. The "visitors" don't even stop at private fences. If it weren't for the private and inaccessible properties, the resident kingfisher would no longer be present.
