The 175,000 square meter Grunewaldsee is located on the edge of the Grunewald in the southwest of Berlin. It is part of Berlin's largest contiguous dog walking area. So you should like dogs if you walk along its banks, as you will find a lot of Berliners with dogs here, especially on sunny weekends.

The Grunewald hunting lodge (built in 1542) and the Paulsborn inn (built as a farm around 1800, later also used as a forester's lodge) are located on the Grunewaldsee.

The Grunewaldsee is located in the west of the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf district of Berlin, on the edge of the Grunewald. The lake, with an area of around 175,000 m², is part of the glacial trough of the Grunewald chain of lakes. To the north are the Hundekehlefenn and Hundekehlesee nature reserves, to the southwest in the chain of lakes are the two nature reserves Langes Luch and Riemeisterfenn and then the Krumme Lanke.

On the lake is the Grunewald hunting lodge from 1542, the oldest castle in the city and the only evidence of Berlin's early Renaissance. Part of the shore area is designated as a nature reserve and at the same time the Grunewaldsee is Berlin's most popular walking area for dogs - a constant conflict of interest and bone of contention in the city. While the lake itself lies entirely in the Grunewald district of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf, part of the southeastern shore, the hunting lodge and the historic hunting restaurant and hotel Paulsborn belong to the Dahlem district of Steglitz-Zehlendorf.

Berlin-Nikolassee station is a station on the Berlin S-Bahn.
It is located in the Berlin district of Nikolassee in the Steglitz-Zehlendorf district.
The station consists of two operationally independent stops.
In the operating station directory, the platform on the Wannseebahn is designated NIW, and the platform on the extended Stadtbahn (parallel to the Wetzlarer Bahn) is designated NIS.

Although I didn't know it beforehand, after the first few kilometers I quickly realized that I had landed in a dog's paradise. There are several dog bathing spots on the lake and a widespread network of paths around the lake. I have never seen so many dogs at once as here.
