The mysterious stones, called "The Twelve Apostles", consist of a series of diabase stones. Scholars argue: have the monoliths been there for 5,000 years as a kind of Upper Franconian Stonehenge? Or did Christians put them up in the Middle Ages? Twelve pieces, a holy number! Other researchers see traces of modern work - is the arrangement of the stones even more recent? The diabase stones are indifferent to this argument: they stand in complete peace, rock solid. Let us be inspired by this equanimity: it is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the silence in complete peace of mind!
