The Ernst Moritz Arndt Viewpoint is an impressive vantage point in Jasmund National Park on Rügen. From here, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the striking chalk cliffs and the Baltic Sea. The vantage point was named after the Rügen-born historian and writer Ernst Moritz Arndt.

In my opinion, this spot offers the most magnificent view of Rügen's chalk cliffs and is not for nothing named after the Rügen-born historian, writer, and publicist Ernst Moritz Arndt. He is arguably one of Rügen's most important men.

Ernst Moritz Arndt (* December 26, 1769 in Groß Schoritz; † January 29, 1860 in Bonn) was a German nationalist and democratic writer, historian, and member of the Frankfurt National Assembly. As a publicist and poet, he devoted himself primarily to mobilizing against the rule of Napoleon Bonaparte in Germany. Therefore, he is also referred to as a freedom fighter. He is considered an important poet of the era of the Wars of Liberation. The extent to which his statements about Judaism can be considered anti-Semitic is controversial. (Source: Wikipedia)
