Ruhethal Castle is a castle in Saxony in the north of the city of Mügeln.

It was built in 1150 in the Döllnitz Valley, including the chapel, and was the former bishop's seat of the Diocese of Meißen. There used to be a moated castle on the spot where the castle stands today. Meissen bishops carried out further renovations in 1261 and 1341. What characterizes the view of Ruhethal Castle is the mighty 40 meter high tower, which was built in 1380 under Bishop Nicholas I.

The castle was the retirement home of Bishop Johann IX around 1590. from Haugwitz. It was later used as the seat of the Mügeln Justice Office, Mügeln Court Office and Mügeln District Court. It is a listed building. Today the Free State of Saxony is the owner.
