The Landmannsklippe is probably one of the most alpine areas in the Harz Mountains and can only be reached via small, narrow paths and a bit of climbing art. For anyone who is reasonably fit, it is doable.

Would you like a little alpine climbing feeling? Then the Landmannklippe is just the thing. However, you should be sure-footed and have a little experience in using your hands to balance. Follow the red dots to the vantage point from which you can look out over the Landmann forest area - hence the cliff's name.

Currently (12.11.2017) the cliff is almost impossible to reach due to a strong wind break. Everywhere trees are criss-crossing. Be sure to follow the red dots. Pretty alpine with climbing passages.

In winter, the Landmannsklippe is very difficult to reach, because you do not see the beaten track.
However, as already mentioned by Felixen can / must be based on the red dots on the trees.
The view and the entry in the summit book is well worth it;)

Unfortunately, too many trees fell over due to the storms. I tried several times in vain to get to the Landsmann cliff. Also the hell cliff is full of fallen trees. I could barely find my way back as the paths are barely visible.

Unfortunately, we have not reached the Landmannsklippe and have aborted about 150m before. The track does not cause any problems in terms of fitness, but we ourselves lost the fun just before the finish and broke off our detour from the Hohnekamm. Alpine means in this case: Climbing over 1m thick spruce trunks. And one after the other. 2 lost Dutchmen came to meet us and have completely lost our orientation despite some experience. Thanks to Komoot we could help 😉
