The castle looks back on more than 1000 years of history. Today you can visit the castle and enjoy regional delicacies in the cozy wine bar. The wine tavern is open from April to October between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m., from November to March on Thursdays to Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Plenty of wine (spritzer) of different tastes available, but be careful! One looks in vain for beer here.
Enjoy cake, coffee and ice cream on the wonderful terrace with a great view. Plenty of seats available, even on nice weekends you can find a place. Self service.

Definitely a rewarding goal. Exposed location overlooking almost all Durbach vineyards and surrounding Black Forest mountains (Brandeckkopf, Mooskopf). In the summer Falknershow, wine festival. Farm shop, chocolatier (top home-made ice cream), winery with sale, in the courtyard and terrace (dream view) Catering good but tour prices. Sunday lunchtime >>> Category ... Not recommended (just too full)

The castle was built almost 1000 years ago by the ducal family of Zähringen, the ancestors of the Margraves of Baden. It stands on a 383 m high rocky outcrop above the Durbach valley. Over the centuries, the castle's owners changed several times, but the castle was also plagued by war, destruction and looting. The castle has always been a center of wine-growing, which is evident at first glance from a distance. Surrounded by vineyards on all sides, it sits high on its rock. A beautiful sight.
