Small pleasure palace in the style of the Rococo of the late 18th century. with interior decoration according to the former "Chinoiserie" fashion. It was originally the center of a multi-hedge park area for various ball games. After the landscaping of the park in the 19th century, it is now picturesquely situated between Lake Pagodenburg and the woody meadow valley behind it.

The two-story, octagonal building was designed by Elector Max Emanuel shortly after the construction of Nymphenburg Palace and completed by Joseph Effner around 1719. The ground floor consists of just a single room with oriental-style decor in blue and white, a playful ceiling painting and colorful Dutch tiles on the walls.

Following the contemporary style of Chinoiserie, the upper floor is decorated in a Far Eastern style with colorful, exotic decorations on black lacquer. The small, cleverly designed rooms make the pagoda castle a highlight of the European "China fashion" of the 18th century. Along with three other park castles, the Pagoda Castle is part of the Nymphenburg Palace Park ensemble.

A contemporary description says: "This Indian building is a place for the nobles to rest when they have played on the mail track. At the bottom it has a hall and two cabinets, the paneling is made in the Arabic and Indian style with all sorts of things Chinese figures and pagodas."
