The Elbe Hiking Trail is 23 kilometers long and perhaps the most beautiful hiking trail in Hamburg. Here you'll encounter container giants, beaches, nature, and culture.

If you want to walk the Elbe Hiking Trail, you should plan some time.

Depending on your walking pace, it takes around five hours to walk from the mouth of the Alster

river to Schulau Harbor in Wedel. However, the trail is also packed with numerous sights and cultural assets.

The Elbe Hiking Trail is essentially a continuation of the Alster Hiking Trail. Specifically, the route runs through Övelgönne, the Hans-Leip-Ufer, the Elbuferweg, the Strandweg in Blankenese, the Falkensteiner Ufer, the Rissener Ufer, and the Otto-Schokoll-Höhenweg. The trail then continues in Wedel along the Graf-Luckner-Weg. All sections have one thing in common: the exciting and impressive view of the Elbe. The name of the Otto-Schokoll-Höhenweg (Otto Schokoll High Trail) alone suggests an incredible view of the wide river and the passing ships.
