Here you will find the best places to stop and I just can't stop at the monastery shop. Who still writes postcards ..... here are some really nice ones!

Fraueninsel in Lake Chiemsee, with its famous Benedictine monastery of Frauenwörth, is unique and charming. Fraueninsel is a neighboring island of Herreninsel in Lake Chiemsee, but differs greatly from the royal island flair of Herreninsel. It is a very small island (approximately twelve hectares in size) with a picturesque village and Benedictine monastery. On the car- and bicycle-free island, just under 250 residents live in approximately 50 houses, including six of the 16 families on Lake Chiemsee who still make their living from fishing. Fraueninsel can be reached by the Chiemsee shipping fleet.
