This bike path connects the Elster and the Saale valley and uses the route of the old "Zuckerbahn" from Zeitz to Camburg. In the past, coal and, as the name suggests, sugar were transported, but since 1999 the line has been shut down and is gradually being rebuilt into a cycle path. As usual on a railway track, you drive here wonderfully quiet and far away from the traffic, only occasional bollards interrupt the otherwise enjoyable ride. If you want, you'll find countless sights along the way.

Nicely developed route. Drive quietly. There are annoying barriers at road crossings, but you can live with that too. From Osterfeld towards Camburg, even more natural, racing bike riders watch out - fast corners on a wet track.

☆ Zuckerbahnradweg is just great. Once in Zeitz, the ugly traffic begins. Take this into account when planning tours.

A great paved bike path in a beautiful landscape with hardly any bike traffic. It's a great ride, except for a few bollards at the crossing roads. But it's worth it to me: no traffic for 32km.

Beautiful scenery and nature, clean asphalt, very quiet and low slope, only the bollards and stop signs are VERY annoying for speedy travelers. But 20/25 km worth it!
