          Despite the large number of visitors at Schöpfl - Whit Monday is always a mountain service, so you can make a note of that - we didn't have to wait particularly long for our food. The team around Gusti and Paul works very well together and the food tasted excellent.

            Prices are ok. Faßbier costs more than a bottle? Food was okay unfortunately it took several questions after 1 hour. Lots of guests are after 15min. gone because not even the beverage order was taken. The staff is in my opinion overwhelmed. Although on the map the 0.6 € surcharge for who, huts and view maintenance maintenance must be paid, it was not charged with us.

                I had the BEST vegetable patties ever. With lettuce and fries, so good, and in a cozy atmosphere. Service was very nice. But there wasn't much going on - it's certainly different on nice days.

                            The Schöpfl-Schutzhaus is a refuge of the ÖTK (Austrian Tourist Club) on the Schöpfl, the highest mountain in the Vienna Woods in Lower Austria. At 893 m, the Schöpfl is the highest mountain peak in the Vienna Woods. In a volume about the monarchy published by Crown Prince Rudolf, the Schöpfl is praised as a mountain with a particularly good view. The ÖTK shelter is at 870 m, just below the summit (878 m above sea level) and in the immediate vicinity of the Matraswarte (893 m above sea level), built in 1898. Only 750 m away is the Leopold Figl Observatory for Astrophysics with the largest reflecting telescope in Austria.
