The Bordenauer lake (also Bordenauer Kiesteich or Kieesteich Bordenau) is a former gravel pit in Neustadt am Rübenberge in the Hannover region. The Baggersee is located in the Leineniederung north of Bordenau, a district of Neustadt am Rübenberge. He was born during the construction of the B 6.

The lake is located in a conservation area and is mostly surrounded by trees. It was taken care of by the Angelsportverein Neustadt am Rübenberge and used as angling waters. In 2011, eel, perch, bream, pike, carp, roach, rudd, tench and zander were reported from the lake.

On the eastern shore is a lawn in a non-fenced area. This area is open to bathers. Even nude bathing is possible. Sanitary facilities are not available, a bathing supervision does not exist.

The Bordenauer Kiesteich is for nature lovers. In a small forest area in the conservation area near the leash, the lake is located north of the outskirts of Bordenau.

There is no kiosk, no playgrounds and no sanitary facilities. Here flora and fauna determine the events. The local fishing club looks after the terrain, which invites you to relax. Nude bathing is possible here.

The bathing area and a sunbathing area are located in the north of the lake. This non-fenced area is open to bathers. Open fires, tents, dogs and horses are prohibited on the grounds of the Keiesteich. Bathing at your own risk, no bathing supervision!

The lake has an area of approx. 40,000 square meters and is one of the bathing waters in the Hanover region. It was created as a gravel pond during the construction of the federal highway 6 and is now owned by the fishing club, which also takes care of the maintenance of the area or should take care of it. Sanitary facilities are no longer available.

Until around the turn of the millennium, the lake had shallow, sandy entrances in several places and was therefore also very suitable for children. However, the "beach" that used to be popular with families is no longer there: it has become overgrown and there is no longer any sand to be found.

The remaining entry points on the south-eastern shore of the lake are used primarily by people from Bordenau. A few dedicated swimmers regularly cut the paths and clear some entry points in summer.

The regional administration regularly monitors the water quality from mid-May to mid-September.
