The "Priesterhäuser" (Priests' Houses) are among the oldest surviving urban residential buildings in Germany and initially served the clergy of St. Mary's Church, later serving church servants and teachers, including Schumann's first piano teacher. Today, they house a museum offering insights into the city's cultural history through a permanent exhibition and special exhibitions.
