A visit to the cargo sailing ship, built in 1896, is always worthwhile. Lovingly restored crew and officer quarters offer an insight into the sometimes rough life of a sailor - and the on-board restaurant spoils you with Hanseatic dishes.

The Rickmer Rickmers is a three-masted steel cargo sailing ship that is now a museum and memorial ship in the port of Hamburg near the St. Pauli Landungsbrücken.

Opening hours:

Daily: 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

The Rickmer-Rickmers is a beautiful cargo sailing ship and has been one of the attractions of the Landungsbrücken for decades.

It will face competition from the "Peking", a four-masted steel barque. It is one of the legendary cargo sailing ships for Chilean saltpeter. Circumnavigating Cape Horn was completely normal for it. Most recently it was a museum ship in New York, in a completely dilapidated state. The transport across the Atlantic with the dock ship "Combi Dock III" took place in July and the restoration will take around three years and will be carried out at the Peters shipyard in Wewelsfleth.

The Peking will be berthed at the historic 1950s sheds opposite the Elbphilharmonie for at least a few years, probably from the end of 2019.
