    The Rickmer-Rickmers is a beautiful cargo sailing ship and has been one of the attractions of the Landungsbrücken for decades.

    It will face competition from the "Peking", a four-masted steel barque. It is one of the legendary cargo sailing ships for Chilean saltpeter. Circumnavigating Cape Horn was completely normal for it. Most recently it was a museum ship in New York, in a completely dilapidated state. The transport across the Atlantic with the dock ship "Combi Dock III" took place in July and the restoration will take around three years and will be carried out at the Peters shipyard in Wewelsfleth.

    The Peking will be berthed at the historic 1950s sheds opposite the Elbphilharmonie for at least a few years, probably from the end of 2019.

      In 1896 the "Rickmer Rickmers" is built. The tall ship is named after the grandson of the company founder Rickmer Clasen Rickmers. Today the sailor is moored as a museum ship in the port of Hamburg.
