      In 1941 construction work began on what is probably the largest German submarine bunker in Northern Europe after the Bremen bunker Valentin: Fink II. So it was filled in to be uncovered again in 2002 by construction work for the runway extension at Airbus. Today it is a memorial, with some explanatory words on a plaque on the headland opposite the bunker. Definitely worth a trip.

              The former operational buildings and remains of the Helgen and harbor facilities in Rüschpark still bear witness to the Deutsche Werft. The Fink II Memorial pays tribute to the victims of the Nazi regime. This was the code name of the submarine bunker located here, which was built on this site between 1941 and 1944 and was blown up again just one year later. In 2006 the memorial was opened together with the Rüschpark. Black gravel stones between the remains of the bunker make the dimensions of the area understandable; Artistic elements and several information boards complete the facility.
