A gem located near the Main River. Directly below the Untermain Bridge. Most people walk directly along the Main River. However, it's definitely worth taking a leisurely stroll along this short stretch (approx. 200 meters). Here's some interesting information: Thanks to its southern exposure, the lee of the quay walls, and the sunlight reflected by the river, exotic plants can thrive in the "Nizza" in a Mediterranean microclimate. The 4.42-hectare site is one of the largest Mediterranean gardens open to the public north of the Alps. Today's plant selection eliminates the need for winter storage in an orangery, as frost-resistant species were chosen here that, wrapped up warm, can remain in place even during the cold season. The Nizza continues the ramparts along its western arm all the way to the banks of the Main River.
