Nothing much seems to be left to salvage at Schlösschen Grün, which the von Zedtwitz family, who were wealthy in the Ascher Ländchen, acquired from the von Neuberg family.

The von Zedtwitz family were originally independent ministerials from Regnitzland. Part of the family's success rested on hands-on mugging. Jörg von Zedtwitz made a name for himself with it. But already Heinrich von Zedtwitz, vassal of the burgraves of Nuremberg, worked as a drudge in Egerland between 1382 and 1412; In 1411 he plundered Nuremberg merchants on the road to Bärnau.

The beginnings of the castle go back to a manor house of the von Zedtwitz family, which around 1600 initially had the character of an agricultural estate. In 1783 it was rebuilt in the neo-Gothic style. The coat of arms above the entrance with the year 1760 was taken over by Kopaniny Castle. The castle served as a restaurant for a while, but it has been closed at least since 2016. The house and the surrounding property look neglected and damaged. Sometimes two horses graze around the house (as of August 2017)
