    Trains run regularly between Görlitz and Dresden via Bautzen station. The trilex-express also runs via Görlitz to Zgorzelec, where you have connections to the Polish trains to Wroclaw. Trains run to Dresden every hour during the day.

        Bautzen has had rail connections on the route to Dresden since 1846 and to Görlitz since 1847. It got its current appearance in 1921. In 1945 the building burned down during the fighting for Bautzen and was later rebuilt. Inside is a model of the former old town with the entire city wall.
