The Warder Church is a parish church and was first documented around 1198. Its name derives from a peninsula in Lake Warder, where a chapel is said to have once stood. It is located in the municipality of Rohlstorf, directly on Lake Wadersee, and belongs to the Evangelical Lutheran parish of Warder. The lords of the manor lived in the manor house with their families. Behind the manor house there was an elaborate park or garden. In front of the manor house was the forecourt, which was surrounded by numerous stables and farm buildings. There were also apartments for the staff, a bakery, saddlery, etc., unless these were relocated to side farms. The front end was a gatehouse, which was intended to demonstrate the grandeur of the estate and protect it from intruders. The access roads to the gatehouse were planted with avenues.
