A beautiful gatehouse with an interesting history. The gatehouse was built in 1583 in the Dutch late Renaissance style. It is part of the fortifications of the Seedorf estate.

The estate Seedorf was a noble estate in the Duchy of Saxe-Lauenburg. Among his early owner families were the noble families of Seedorf, Brockdorff, Scharpenberg and Lützow. The gatehouse is extraordinary. It was the vestibule to Gut Seedorf and acts like a small castle, which was built in 1583 in the style of the Dutch late Renaissance as part of the fortification of the Good Seedorf. The building consists of the actual gatehouse, which in turn is flanked by two towers.
