The road is relatively quiet and slopes gently downhill.

The Holzarte footbridge (from the Basque "Holtzearte," meaning "between walls") is one of the most spectacular and visited sites in the Western Pyrenees. About 70 meters long and suspended 150 meters above these gorges, carved more than 80 million years ago by the Olhadoko Erreka River, the footbridge allows you to cross the Olhadubi Canyon and reach the other side.

Beautiful village which exudes Basque soul with its pediment next to the church. Note, a very cool fountain on one of the town squares which can save your day before facing the port of Larrau or the Bagargi. There is also another small fountain with a tap in the stone wall along the main road.

The town of Larrau is located on a mountainside with views over the two separating valleys. If you need water, there is a beautiful fountain with water inside the town. It is worth stopping to get water before facing the 11 km that remain to the port of Larrau.

This spectacle takes you definitively into the sector of the vertiginous gorges of Haute-Soule. From here you can admire the Holzarte footbridge which overlooks the Olhadubi gorges.

Very pretty section along the Gave de Larrau. The road meanders along the curves of the river flowing in the bottom of the valley.

Larrau is a charming Basque village nestled at the foot of the Pic d'Orhy and the Col de Bagargui in Haute-Soule.
