The renaturalization project was only effectively completed at this location in 2025. Before that, it was "nice," but nothing more. Today, at least here, one can get an impression of what the Nidda might originally have looked like. A little further downstream towards Höchst, there is also a more natural stretch – otherwise, unfortunately, it's still a very straightened river, yet still one of the most beautiful sections in Frankfurt.

The history of Oberursel's old town begins with its first mention in 791, developed from a farming settlement into an important commercial center in the 14th/15th centuries, received town rights in 1444 and experienced industrialization in the 19th century; today, the renovated old town with its historic town hall (built in 1479 on older foundations) and many half-timbered houses shapes the cityscape and has been extensively renovated since the 1970s, with pedestrian zones and new cultural centers.

The Nied railway bridge in Frankfurt am Main is the second oldest railway bridge still in operation in Germany.[1] The arched bridge was built in 1838 and went into operation in 1839. The Taunus Railway crosses the Nidda River on it. The bridge is located between Frankfurt Central Station and Frankfurt-Höchst Station in the Nied district.

The Nidda is a river in Hesse. It rises in the Vogelsberg mountains and flows for approximately 90 kilometers before emptying into the Main River at Wörthspitze, on the border between the Frankfurt districts of Höchst and Nied, with an average flow rate of about 13 m³/s.
