The St. Catherine's Church in Lensahn, a late Gothic brick church from the 15th century, impresses with its striking tower with a baroque dome. Particularly worth seeing is the richly decorated bronze baptismal font, which dates from 1641. The church also houses a historic organ, which offers a particularly attractive sound and is regularly used for concerts.

The Oldenburg Wall is an important archaeological monument that once surrounded a castle and is the origin of the city of Oldenburg. On the museum circuit around a small lake landscape, we immerse ourselves in the atmosphere of a Slavic fishing village. Small clay huts with different furniture and residential purposes are lined up next to each other and give an idea of what life might have been like in the 9th century. I would have liked to have seen signs along the way to better classify the time and history. Amateur historians regularly enliven the area with demonstrations. Today, for example, we were shown how chain mail is made. We stop at the "Zweizack" restaurant for lunch and can only recommend it. A small section of the museum is housed in one of the larger houses.

The Slavic settlement of Starigard was once located on today's museum grounds - here you can immerse yourself in the life of the Slavs in the early Middle Ages. Visit the reconstructed houses, several exhibitions and the impressive ring wall. Medieval events often take place on weekends during the summer months. The Oldenburg Wall Museum (usually just referred to as the “Wall Museum”) in Oldenburg in Holstein shows the history of the Slavs in Ostholstein. The museum is run by the Wallmuseum Oldenburg in Holstein non-profit operating company mbH. The street on which it is located in Oldenburg is named after Karl Wilhelm Struve, who archaeologically researched and documented the Wagrian ramparts and castles.
