Great little municipal campsite on the banks of the Loire! Quiet, magnificent sunset and excellent bakery nearby....Supermarket in the village.

We dined here at lunchtime. It was very delicious. The service was polite and courteous and spoke English and German. A clear recommendation for the restaurant.

This 437 meter summit is part of the Monts de la Madeleine. From the summit, you enjoy a breathtaking view, from the Morvan in the north to the Puys chain in the southwest. It is a great place to relax, breathe fresh air and marvel at the beauty of nature.

Nice bike path along the canal

Small quiet road between the Besbre and the water intake of the canal lateral to the Loire, at the entrance to Dompierre-sur-Besbre. On the Bourbonnais cycle route.

After 15 years in England in traditional French catering, Julien and Alice opened "les bons vivants" in November 2022 in the old village school. Nice place with shade. Exit point for canoes can also be used as an entrance for swimming. Watch out for the current!

The Canal latéral à la Loire is a shipping canal that runs through the French regions of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Centre-Val de Loire. Together with the canals Canal du Loing, Canal de Briare and Canal du Center, it forms a chain of canals (Route Bourbonnais), which enables barges and pleasure craft to cross from the Seine to the Saône and on to the Mediterranean.
