The Mechower See is a eutrophic (originally mesotrophic) glacial channel lake within the Schaalsee Biosphere Reserve. It is located east of the eponymous municipality of Mechow in the Schleswig-Holstein district of Herzogtum Lauenburg, directly on the state border with Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Northwest Mecklenburg district).

This attractive lion's head fountain bubbles directly on the hiking trail on the eastern shore of the Domsee. The bench next to it invites you to take a spontaneous little break. It's a great place to rest and cool off a bit in the summer.
