Two surrounding moats with a rampart in between have been preserved to this day. The inner moat encloses the oldest castle, an oval structure with a diameter of around 70 m, in whose ring of walls in the southwest the 33 m high keep is integrated. This has a circular floor plan and its entrance is at a height of 12 m. To the west there is a 34 m long castle-like extension with a small inner courtyard. Renovations in the castle area took place mainly in the Renaissance, which can be seen particularly in the windows and portals. A wooden pulpit altar in the castle chapel from the end of the 17th century has also been preserved. The furnishings, dated "1681" but unsigned, are attributed to Martin Kraft. In the middle of the Huy-Sattel valley, about 75m south of the S-curve of the Brückweg, a strong spring rises in the layers of the upper Bundsandstein, the water of which flows towards Wilhelmshall, joins the spring water from Huy-Neinstedt at the Kuckucksmühle and feeds the Anderbecker Becke. (°1) In the Middle Ages, the wooded area around the small forest pond belonged to the St. Georgenhospital in Halberstadt (as it is still listed on the map of the Huy from 1806). The name "Jürgenbrunnen" probably came from "Georgsbrunnen". The Huy hiking guide (Natur- und Umweltbund Huy e.V.) does mention a St. George's monastery in Halberstadt, but it never existed. The monastery complex, enclosed by a dry-stone wall and covering over six hectares, is situated at the highest point of the Huywald forest. The monastery buildings, including the church and cloister, stand to the west on the hilltop.
