Pierrefonds Castle is a fortified castle built at the end of the 14th century, located in Pierrefonds, in the Oise. It is a medieval castle rebuilt for Napoleon III by Viollet-le-Duc.

Very good conversion of the old railway line into a greenway: some passages are lit, others are in the shade, a wooded area for the most part, it is a very pleasant greenway to do. Too bad it does not continue to the D33 and that there is this intersection with the farm path.

The towpath that crosses La Ferté Milon is a must. As the section is closed to bicycle traffic, it is a must-see hiking trail, rather than a must-see mountain bike trail; and given the terrain, it would even be more Gravel than mountain bike, if bicycles were allowed to circulate. The Ruins of the Castle is a good place to stop: for the history, the panoramic view and the restaurant.

As you explore the enchanting forest surrounding Pierrefonds Castle, you’ll discover a network of cycle paths. This majestic medieval fortress, with its imposing towers and fortified walls, provides a breathtaking backdrop for your hike.

Located in Coyolles, this former castle of the lords of Fossés was built during the 16th century. This building remains a fine example of a stately home with its enclosure and vegetable garden.

Magnificent castle built in 1397, then reinvented in the 19th century. The view from the castle across the lake is superb.
