1월 21, 2026, Tranchée de la Soif et Bois d'Ailly
Very long front lines of trenches; today, the forest has grown back on the other side. During the war, not a single tree remained. It was very impressive how many kilometers of trenches there were in the forest, with shell holes every few meters.

6월 22, 2025, Saint-Mihiel Abbey Church
Founded around 708 by Count Wulfoalde, this Benedictine abbey became an important religious and cultural centre in Lorraine. The abbey was under the protection of Charlemagne and flourished under Abbot Smaragdus in the 9th century. Today, you can still visit the abbey church of Saint-Michel, home to the masterpiece La Pâmoison de la Vierge by Ligier Richier. The 18th-century monastery library houses thousands of ancient works and is one of the most beautiful in the region.

The circuit runs in this historical place, and despite the surrounding nature very well preserved, both lines, French and German trenches, which are only a few meters apart...

It's impressive what they have created to survive, you have to imagine the whole thing without the forest.

In addition to its beautiful church, Euville has the particularity of having a town hall placed under the sign of Art Nouveau. This magnificent building is open to visitors on request. If you like this architecture and the particular objects of this period, then be delighted. The works of recognized artists such as Louis Majorelle or Edgard Brandt are present there.

9월 28, 2022, Croix des Redoutes Memorial
As a memorial to the many dead, this memorial cross and the trenches are still very important today as a sign of remembrance. "Now you, O Lord, let your servant depart in peace, as you said..." says the so-called "Song of Simeon" (Gospel of Luke chapter 2, verse 29). However, the people who are remembered here did not die in peace, but rather became victims of war and tyranny. Many places and monuments that you encounter along the way are a testament to the horror of war and tyranny - which is still significant and relevant today. They all have, and this is new for each generation, two essential functions: -1- Commemorate and remember the victims -2- Call for the preservation of peace

Very playful mountain bike course in a remarkable historic site. Indeed, if 100 years ago, it was the horror of experiencing the First World War on this salient of Saint-Mihiel, today thanks to the VTT club Les Têtes Brûlées, we can enjoy exceptional trails in a natural preserved.

The Bois d'Ailly was the scene of fierce fighting from April to May 1915. La Tranchée de la Soif testifies to the suffering of Commander André's men who were forced to surrender to the Germans on May 22, 1915, after holding out for 3 days when they were isolated, bombed and treated without food and water. Numerous regimental monuments and trenches line the forest path between the forests of Ailly and Marbotte.

The oppressive World War I memorial is located in the middle of the forest and is always accessible. You can walk along the trenches and get a good impression of how the soldiers fought and lived there. Better only visit in daylight. There is no artificial lighting. Good display boards also in German. Sturdy shoes required.
