My son (10) loved it, it's great that you can go up the tower. Everything is clean and well-kept there. We had made half time there on our tour, unfortunately the kiosk was closed, toilets accessible and clean.

A good tip. There are beautiful hiking trails around the Grimburg, and a stop is a nice way to end it, if it is allowed

The Grimburg was built by the noblemen of Saarbrücken around 1150. The Burg Grimburg Association was founded in 1978 and a lot has happened since the restoration of this facility

Worth a visit, interesting information boards about the history and a very beautiful forest with some single trails. Around the glider place towards Kell am See and you have access to the Ruwer bike path

The Grimburg is one of the most interesting free castles. Everything was not just concreted here, but much reconstructed and, for example, the tower entrance designed as a wooden staircase. This leads to a feeling of dizziness due to the crunching and the looks through the woods, but it is not that bad. A great facility!

On a mountain spur above the Wadrilltal perched the striking ruins of the Grimburg. The castle and the preserved entrance tower can be visited daily and free of charge. From April to September, the Burgtreff also opens on weekends and public holidays. Here, interested people can inform themselves about the history of the castle between 13.30 and 18 o'clock and also enjoy drinks and snacks.
