On a mountain spur above the Wadrilltal perched the striking ruins of the Grimburg. The castle and the preserved entrance tower can be visited daily and free of charge. From April to September, the Burgtreff also opens on weekends and public holidays. Here, interested people can inform themselves about the history of the castle between 13.30 and 18 o'clock and also enjoy drinks and snacks.

Worth a visit, interesting information boards about the history and a very beautiful forest with some single trails. Around the glider place towards Kell am See and you have access to the Ruwer bike path

The Grimburg is one of the most interesting free castles. Everything was not just concreted here, but much reconstructed and, for example, the tower entrance designed as a wooden staircase. This leads to a feeling of dizziness due to the crunching and the looks through the woods, but it is not that bad. A great facility!

My son (10) loved it, it's great that you can go up the tower. Everything is clean and well-kept there. We had made half time there on our tour, unfortunately the kiosk was closed, toilets accessible and clean.

In the valley below the Grimburg, we recommend stopping off at the Grimburgerhof with a restaurant and overnight accommodation.
In Grimburg there is also the witch museum

The castle and the courtyard are really beautiful. From a certain time, you can even get a cheap guided tour. Hikers can take a nice rest in the witch tower, as there is a bench with a table. If it rains you are well protected. You can go up in the tower and have a great view.
