A vast, beautiful heathland landscape, both wooded and covered with heather. It's particularly impressive during the heather blossom season, which generally occurs between August 8th and September 9th.

While the 147-hectare Ohligs Heath was still in very poor condition in the 1970s, after more than twenty years of maintenance and development measures, it is now one of the most valuable protected areas of the Bergisch Heath Terrace. Today, it is once again characterized by wet and dry heathland in the open areas, by birch fen forests and alder swamp forests in the damp depressions, and by pine and oak forests on the sandy ridges. Three streams, numerous small pools, and a larger pond provide habitat for amphibians and rare dragonfly species, such as the Lesser Bluetit. Great path along the Wupper

The Poschheider Mill is a former watermill in the Bergisches Land city of Solingen. The Poschheider Mill is the site of the origins of the Bremshey company, which was one of the city's most important companies until its bankruptcy in 1982. Today, the mill, which has been inactive since 1958, serves as a forestry facility for the Solingen Nature and Environment Department.

The organizers and trail planners for the "Bergisches Wanderland" have put a lot of effort into not only establishing the "Bergischer Weg" as a long-distance hiking trail, but the surrounding area also offers more than two dozen "Bergisches Streifzüge" (Bergisch forays) as local circular trails.
