Ruins of an ancient Benedictine abbey, founded in the 6th century by Saint Évroult, a nobleman who became a monk. The Sainte-Thérèse basilica was raised in honor of Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus shortly after her canonization. Imposing neo-Byzantine style building inspired by the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Montmartre, its construction, on a height on the edge of the city, began in 1929 and its consecration took place in 1954.
