🌳 The walnut tree avenue consists of hundreds of walnut trees that form a natural canopy in summer. This makes it one of the most pleasant routes for cyclists and walkers on the Moselle Cycle Path.

🌳 The walnut tree avenue in Brauneberg is one of the most striking landmarks of the Middle Moselle region and lends the town an almost park-like, Mediterranean flair. It stretches for approximately 1.6 km directly along the banks of the Moselle and is the longest of its kind in the region.

🎧 The listening point on the Moselle cycle path in Brauneberg is part of an interactive audio guide project that tells cyclists exciting stories about the region at 40 stations between Perl and Koblenz.

From the ridge in the Moselle loop of Minheim you have a great view of the barrage of the Wintrich run-of-river power plant.

This street is popular with people who look down to the ground to pick up walnuts. Harvest time is from around mid-September to the end of October. The nuts are ripe when they fall from the tree and their shells crack open; if well dried and stored correctly, they can be kept for many months.
