There used to be a small railway from Philippsheim to Binsfeld. It was a narrow-gauge railway with a gauge of 750 millimeters.

The wooden observation tower is 20 meters high and was built in 1993. Once you have climbed the 100 steps, you will be rewarded with a fantastic view over the valleys and heights of the southern Eifel.

The two relaxation loungers are a welcome opportunity for a break on our hike on the Eifelsteig. Once seated, you can enjoy a great view from here. If the weather is good, you can even see the incision in the Moselle valley in the distance.

Interesting remnant from the Second World War era.

To the right of the drinking trough is a wayside cross = beechnut cross, the inscription of which is a mystery. The writing may have been put up by someone who was not able to write.

The Fidei observation tower is located in the municipality of Zemmer, in the district of Rodt near the sports field. Located at an altitude of 395 meters above sea level, it offers visitors a view from the top platform over the Eifel, Mosel, Hunsrück and into neighboring Luxembourg. The tower, built from wood, is around 20 meters high and offers a magnificent view. It is located on the Eifelsteig long-distance hiking trail on the 14th stage (Bruch - Kordel).
