The "Great Double Head" in Traben-Trarbach is a striking, seven-meter-high sandstone sculpture by the artist Jürgen Waxweiler. It stands as a landmark in the traffic circle on the B53 at the entrance to Trarbach and symbolically connects the two districts. The sculpture was erected in 2011 and depicts two heads – one looking towards Traben, the other towards Trarbach, as guardians of the "twin town".

Traben-Trarbach is home to a unique Buddha collection, which, through an exhibition in the Moselle Valley, illuminates, explores, and questions the fascinating world of Buddhism. Buddhist art, particularly various Buddha figures from numerous Asian countries, forms the basis for this unique symbiosis of ancient wine culture in the Moselle Valley and Buddhism as a teaching, philosophy, and wisdom.

The ruins of Mont Royal fortress lie above Traben-Trarbach on a bend in the Moselle River and were built at the end of the 17th century by order of the French Sun King, Louis XIV. The complex covered an area of 50 hectares and offered space for up to 12,000 soldiers and 3,000 horses. It was intended to serve as a supply base for the French Rhine Army and to control the central Rhineland. Only eleven years after construction began, following the Peace of Rijswijk in 1697, the French destroyed the fortress themselves in 1698 to avoid surrendering it to their opponents. Today, only a few remains of the once mighty fortress are visible. These include sections of the walls, casemates, cellar vaults, and defensive ditches. A large part of the ruins is overgrown by forest.

Kröv, idyllically situated on a bend in the Moselle River, has been an important wine-growing town for centuries. The steep vineyards characterize the landscape and are ideal for growing the Riesling grape, which made Kröv famous. Monks systematically cultivated wine here as early as the Middle Ages, but the town gained worldwide fame through its cult wine 'Kröver Nacktarsch,' which is particularly prized for its quality and unique tradition. Visitors to Kröv experience winemaking history, the romanticism of the Moselle River, and the close connection between landscape and culture all in one.

The village of Wolf was once the setting for Edgar Reitz's "Die Andere Heimat" (The Other Homeland). Just like the original "Heimat" series, Edgar Reitz takes you on a family epic journey through the years. Definitely recommended for cinephiles!
